biggest regret purchase

What's your biggest regret in buying? I'm thinking of all the cold weather neoprene stuff I've bought, I always found a use for it, spring hat, fall hat winter neoprene hats, gloves. There is one Pansh that never flew right for me (I have a 19 aurora (great) and a 10 aurora (trash)), but it was so cheap I didn't mind. I've had a liquid force proof board that was the second to worst board I have ever owned, but there is even one board I hated worse than that:

2009, liquid force Abreu concept LTD. Zero ability to go upwind, stiff as a rock, couldn't jump, hard landings, went through chop like a tricycle. At the time I bought it, I had just snapped my old kiteboard in two landing on something hard and was at the launch with money in hand begging anyone to sell me a board so I could keep riding that day. I rode that thing for 1 month and regretted every sesh. I can't remember exactly what I did with it. I think it started to delaminate so I threw it in the trash? After that I got my Jamie North Team edition and life was good again.

2012 F-One Acid. Too small even in the biggest size, weak fins (they still use em) and the bottom looked like crap after just 2 sessions. The footpads were crap at that time too, because they were 2 parts glued together, and they separated right at the heel. They changed that with the newer verions at least.

Probably sounds cheesy, but I have no regrets. I usually don't buy on impulse, and I research before buying. Once I take the plunge, I tend to rationalize my purchases so I focus on the good, not the bad (cognitive dissonance theory in action?). I guess I've liked some kites or boards better than others, but never regretted buying any of them. :cool2:

My first C "perfect for learning" kite.

Although it cost me almost nothing ( traded for old windsurfing stuff) if I never had tried a different kite I would had thought kitesurfing was a crappy sport.

A quiver of Switch Nitro IIs.

Worst kites ever......and I've been kiting since 2002. So I've flown a few bags.

*disclaimer - I did buy a quiver of Switch Nitro 4s a few years ago and they were fine.

Funny thing about this one, jespin. I once bought a used 16m Havoc (think it was 2008) for a couple hundred bucks. I thought it was the best purchase ever (at the time). Saved me on a lot of light wind days. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. :thumb:
