Hello....

im looking for a new LW Board and my normal board is a Core Choice 2.
With all the characteristics and quality of the choice 2 im realy happy, so i would like to
stay at core for my LW Board.
I checked internet for a while for tests or reports about the fusion 3 LW but didnt find anything...
So my question is, if anyone can tell me something about core fusion 3 LW
Thx in advance for your help

I own the 144 Fusion but have tried the 147. Great board that can do both regular and LW conditions. Your Choice 2 is also a great all-round board so maybe the 152 FusionLW is the way to go?

yes i also think about the bigger version... especially caus of my weight teh 152 would be the better choice for me.
how about the underwater shape of the board. does it perform good in choppy conditions. thats my main aspect.
i also had a 160x50 Door before, but as soon a little wind rises the chopp is really a problem to normal Doors, tested several at this spot... not the best combination... a big flat door and really choppy water

What size is your Choice2 board, what do you weigh and what’s the largest kite you use?

Like I said, haven’t tried the 152 but the 147 was great. Really nice hybrid of regular/LW board. Where I’m located the 144 does well in most conditions. If you don’t get much flat water where you go out (147 and 157 are shaped very differently) there’s no doubt the 147 will handle chop much much better. It’s closer to a XXL version of the standard Fusion than a LW door. Very hard for me to say not knowing anything about you. Try both if you can. Sorry.

Im about 97 kg, wind start normaly at 2 oclock with ten kts and goes normaly up to 15/16 kts at an average day.
my choice 2 is 139x41,5 and kite sizes are xr4 in 12 / 15 / 19
with a 160x50 door it was possible to start riding from 9-10kts with the 19m xr4.

Thanks for the info. I still think you should try both but from what you specify the 152 sounds like the way to go. The 147 is great because it offers a bit of both worlds, it’s almost like having a regular Fusion board and you can use it for LW days or when the wind picks up, that’s the big benefit of the 147, but it won’t give you the full LW experience on really calm days so I doubt you won’t get the most out of your 19m. It really depends on how many days a year you have those 10-16kts winds. Trying both is my best recommendation. Sorry if that wasn’t very helpful.

How big is the difference in rocker between the 144 and 147?

I don’t know if Core publishes measurements on their webpage and it’s been nearly a year since I demo’ed them both. The only significant difference between them is dimension and the Core dealer told me the 147 was just a big boy version of the 144. Fusion3 rocker is funky though. Profile doesn’t look at all like a freeride board and it goes flat and stiff towards the tips but with a flexible centre. I have no complaints. Does everything I need it to do. 152 will be different of course. That’s a pure LW door.
