When crashing I try and land on my ass but on a few occasions I have noticed that the groin can take a pretty hard hit as well. I wear 1 or 2mil neoprene shorts under my board shorts for protection but was wondering if anyone knows of a type of cup or impact vest for the family jewels that would work for kiting.

2 sets of boardshorts is enough to eliminate pain on reentry (either that or I've got b***s of steel.... yes it's probably the latter)
Seriously if you want to go superprotect just buy a cheap pair of jeans 2 sizes too big for you (for comfort), cut the legs to taste and wear over your regular board shorts.

I've been using swim pants under wetsuit. They help to some extent with the problem that someone here stated "balls working as the leading edge of your ass when landing without board".
If you dont have tightish swim shorts, use boxers. Just anything to keep the package not hanging loose.
