Should say that I now have a Zephyr V5 + 55cm bar and 27m lines. :thumb:

Played it safe John! I wish I never sold my v3 zephyr now...

Thanks all for the comments

The H3 is so much cheaper I think I'm just going to get one and see how I get on. I'll stick an update here when I've had it on the water a couple times

I don't know Helium but I know very well Zephyr. I had this kite for 4 years and I sold it last year for to buy a Flysurfer Soul 18m.
I love Zephyr, really good kite in light wind with a great windrange. You can ride from 10knt to 20knt with a twintip (I weight 68kilo), very good depower. Good hangtime, easy to learn new tricks in light wind in 12 -15knt.
Under 10knt you must take a great board twintip and you can ride with 8knt but it'snt possible (or difficult) to jump. There is 27m line but under 12knt it 'better if you put 3m more.
This kite is really good for freestyle, oldschool but not for surf or foil. I think Helium is very good for foil.
The pressure in the bar is a little strong.
It s depend your programm :
Foil : 'd rather Helium
Freestyle / freeride : Zephyr

😉

I am not sure why you don't like zephyr for foiling..
I like it very much with my foil.

I don't practice usualy foil but I know well Zephyr and I think zephyr is heavier than Helium and no drift very well = good for up wind but not really for down wind with foil.
Can you down wind easily with your foil + Zephyr?

Obviously riding style would be different but it does not mean it's bad.
I like boosting with Zephyr on my foil..
No experience with Helium, unfortunately...

Have used my Zephyr V5 a few times in 10 to 19 knots on my Lieuwe Shotgun 136 x 40.5 twintip (am 83kg).

The first few times were in 10-14 knots with the recommended Ozone 55cm bar with 27m lines and factory supplied kite settings. The kite pulled like a train and when the wind picked up a bit the bar pressure was far higher than what I am used to with my Enduro V2's.

So I changed the Zephyr bar pressure/turning speed wing tip settings to lower bar pressure/faster turning. Certainly reduced bar pressure a bit and turned a little faster (or less slowly would be more accurate  )

The last time I went out the wind was 13 knots forecast to get up to 17+ so rather than wait for the wind to get up I decided to use the Zephyr with a 50cm bar with 25m lines to see what it was like. It was much nicer with the shorter lines, and still turned OK.

Then the wind slowly picked up to 18+ knots and while others brought out their 12m kites I stayed on the Zephyr and was perfectly comfortable! To say I was surprised was an understatement ...

Amazing kite. :thumb:
