One of the best all-around kites out there. Does everything well and very large wind range. Can't go wrong.

Yeah, that sounds solid, I'm a big fan of orienting kite types to sizes. Before i moved to mostly all wave riding/strapless surf, I'd have a 3 kite quiver, where the biggest kite would be more light wind/all-around oriented (Flite or Prodigy), my middle kite would be for boosting - 10m Razor, and my small kite would be more for eating up gusts - Prodigy, etc.

Now I'm all Roams, so........that goes out the window.

Who's flying them and what do you think. Some reviews make it sound like a beginner kite, whatever that is. And most others say it's a great all around kite, and pretty good wave kite. I also have read its good in gusty wind and depowers really well, all attributes I really like. I have a 12m Flite and love it, But I was thinking Prodigy for the high wind days..7m and a 9.5.
I really like the smaller sizes 7m for 20 knots plus and 5m for those crazy days, they handle these typically gusty great lakes winds well. I also like foiling with them in moderate winds (locally gusty west winds) as they handle the gusts really well and keep flying in the lulls. They relaunch as good as the FLITES. I use the FLITES 10m and 12m for foiling in super light winds though as they are faster

I have a 5m and 12m Prodigy with 7&9 Razors in the middle for 85% of the time. I weight 140lbs so the 12 is my lightwind kite and does well up to 20+ if Iā€™m too lazy to pump another kite. The 5m is magic for me. I have ridden it in 40mph gusting to 55 (no joke) and was in full control. I use them at both ends of my quiver successfully. The 12 on a surfboard is fun to run downwind on during marginal days.

Hey matth, I'm right there with you. 17m, 12m Flite, 12m Razor, and 9.5 Prodigy. Only downside is that the 9.5 Prodigy won't get you way upwind like the Flite. But it's really well-mannered in the weird stuff. I rode it first lap in Ragnarok last year and my right quad is still tired from pushing that thing upwind! 2nd lap on the Flite did the job easier.

I'm in the middle of converting my quiver. Coming from 7/10/12/16 Fuse. Before that I had 8/10/14 Rise. I've already bought 7 and 9.5 Prodigy (really looking forward to these for my Gorge/OR coast trip next month). On the upper end, I'm deciding between 12 Prodigy and 14.5 Flite (which I think will give me the same low end as my 16 Fuse) or going 12 and 17 Flite (seems like 12 and 14.5 Flite would be too much overlap). The latter will give me more low end, but a bigger gap (in wind range) between the 9.5 and the 12. I'm not too concerned with kiting in the lowest wind possible, it's just not that fun to me. Home conditions are knee high lake chop. 180lbs and ride both TT and surfboard, depending on conditions. Haven't foiled yet. Thoughts?

I would go 12m flite and 17m. I have also thought of dumping my 17m , But on those low teen days it can be a game changer. I find the 12m flite needs around 14mph to make it worth while were you can stay up wind and practice some move. The 17m can do the same around 11mph IMO.

Not that it really matters, but I am also in the process of renewing my quiver and plan 17m/12m Flites and 9.5m and 7m Prodigys.
I have the 12m coming and would have the rest but both my kids just had wisdom teeth removed, so I gave all my money to an oral surgeon who is probably kiting on new kites now...
I too was a little hesitant, but the more I hear the less concerned I am the the Prodigy will be boring. That does not sound like the case at all.
Looking forward to them!
