Hey guys, just wondering what are the best marketplaces for buying second heand kite gear in the US?
Checked eBay and here but is there a more popular buy/sell site?

I have bought and sold an irresponsible amount of gear on ikitesurf over the years. Pretty easy to spot the phonies, rest of the people have all been decent and good to work with.

If youre just buying, there are some great consignment shops as well. I've bought a handful of kites from Windance (
www.windance.com) and check their used section every so often for good deals. Sometimes they get new-ish kites that are put on consignment pretty cheap. That way you also know you're getting something that someone looked at (and I think inflated to make sure it holds air). Real has ok deals too sometimes though their used gear is usually a bit more expensive.
Other than that I've had good success buying and selling on ebay.

Just what I was after
cheers guys!
Is there many scams on iKitesurf? Or would you say it's mostly genuine sellers?

Finding the places that are kiteboaring hotspots and those local forums are usually good.
like someone said.
-nwkite covers the Gorge area
-Chicago has one that kinda covers the great lakes area.
-BayAreaKiteboarding is for San Francisco area
-Think there is at least one for both Florida and Texas
-Has to be one for Hatteras

also Craigslist. I typically check the SF bay area (local) or south florida.
For sure not ebay if you buy. Only if you sell as the prices go way to high ...

I don' t like eBay for selling, as you have to pay 10% to eBay and then 3% to PayPal. Then, when you get to sell your gear, you don't get your money for some days, and if the buyer, reasonably or not, makes a claim, then you have to spend more of your time proving that your item was legit, well described and you shipped it properly. Not for me.
I like eBay as a buyer though. Found many good deals there through the years and never got seriously disappointed. As usual, you have to learn how to pick your sellers.
I also used with great success iKitesurf and Craigslist.
