In chronological order :
FS SA 19 : excellent for low wind, expanding time on water
PL Chargers : even today I keep coming back to these, they have a unique feel to them
Zeeko Spitfire : very versatile, fun, sturdy
Ozone Hyperlink v1 5m : very well behaved in strong wind for foiling, not twitchy and yet lively

Foiling: I could multiply sessions by 4 !

Using Clouds for foiling, best combo I could find especially with a 1200 wing, 80cm mast and pocket board

Having a blast again after almost 20 years of kiting

Spleene door 2009 best light wind board you could buy prior to the foil era. Excellent flex for jumps for a 159 size and great for dark slides. Still going strong after 9 years and looks as good as new. Still saving many light wind sessions and keeping my kite quiver to a minimal two and saving me money! Awesome.

Flysurfer Peak4 kites combined with a surf foil :D

Took up foiling 2 years ago, and after the pain of learning after being a competent kitesurfer for nearly 20 years, began to experience the joy of silent flight on the foil. It was great fun but something was missing in the kite department. Inflatable kites needed more drift than they were capable of to deal with the glide of the foil, especially on waves. And if you looped an inflatable there would be too much power and you could then outrun the wave. Smaller twin skin foils had a bit more drift but the depower and turning was slow, also interfering with wave riding.

Then I read the thread started by Horst about the Peak4 viewtopic.php?f=197&t=2401224 He reviewed a 3m Peak4 on a surf foil and thought it good enough to have its own thread. Others also tried the Peak4 and raved about it. I was a Flysurfer dealer and Peak4 kites were half the price of an inflatable kite so I got a 3m Peak4 and tried it out for myself. Initially I was wary as there was no guarantee it would relaunch if I dropped it. However once I had 10 minutes on the kite I got used to how it flew and found it had just what I was looking for, massive drift, instant depower and it turned fast, really fast! Maybe the 3m Peak4 was just a fluke so I got the 5m Peak4 for lighter winds. It was amazing, it did all the things I wanted even in less than 10 knots :) I've also got an 8m Peak4 now for well under 10 knots.

So the Peak4 plus foiling has reignited kitesurfing for me. I can foil in wind I would have never gone out in before because it meant a big slow kite and just being able to stay upwind on a TT or surfboard. And it's not often that a kite can be such a fantastic gamechanger and be cheaper than virtually all other kites. I've also sold many Peak4 kites, and without exception, all buyers have been extremely happy with the kite.
Thanks Horst Sergio, thanks Flysurfer and thanks to those who developed hydrofoils to where they are today :D :D

Foiling in general, not sure why it took me so long. It hasn't taken over my kiting, it's just another tool in the arsenal, makes flat days fun.

OR Stick Shift Bar - why you might ask? Not so much because I have short arms to reach depower, because I don't, or the clean lines above you (which is nice). It's the fact that when you are coming in for a bottom turn or downloop to redirect into waves you can quickly dump power then power back up without affecting your balance by reaching up. Huge advantage in my eyes.

Many years ago it happened the same to me with windsurfing. I was sincerely bored. I began to windsurf when I was 12 in 1982. After 28 years I needed something new and exciting, something TO LEARN. So I began kitesurfing. 10 years later, here I am, still kitesurfing. At 51 I can’t afford the learning process of fs tricks, so I basically mown the lawn and jump, but I really enjoy my sessions, maybe because where I live the wind is light and not blowing every day. And yes, sometimes a new piece of gear can do the magic’
