Hi Guys,
Tried the 2017 Raptor LTD over the weekend and really enjoyed it.
Great edge control with very good pop. It could be a bit softer in chop but it’s not too bad.
I have the option to buy a demo 2017 at a good discount or I can buy a new 2018 Neon board. Unfortunately I can’t demo the 2018...
Can anybody who have used both give a comparison between the 2? I know they changed quite a bit on the new 2018 version.

i had 2014 and now i have 2018,
way better in chop , its very light and it feels like going thru butter,
2018 has changed a lot over older models .
I had the same dilemma as you and i went with 2018 , very happy with it .
Ticker fins make noise sometimes tho .

I have the regular, not LTD, Raptor in 2016 and 2018. They both are great but the Nano Glide Skin on the 2018 seems to edge better than than the 2016 without it.
You might search for a second, or board that has a blemish that is discounted.
Also, call Crazyfly and talk to them about the years, they give good advice.

I have the 2018 LTD - my other boards don't get used now, it does everything pretty damn good.
I would get the NEON version - black boards are hard to see if you have problems losing your board.. the Dayglow green pads stick out like dogs balls.

I have the same board as Shave the whales. Great board, super smooth , fast and LIGHT. I bought the regular raptor(2018) and honestly was not thrilled with it, not saying it a bad board, but it felt heavy and dull to me. I was able to switch out board for the carbon version at local shop, I have to see they are completely different IMO.......go carbon..

Thx guys,
Leaning towards the 2018. It seems the better all-round board.
Got this reply from CrazyFly:
The 2018 LTD has a new shape, but we kept the most favorite part of the LTD. So, the 2018 has a double concave, but only in the center of the board, which makes it ride similar. What makes the 2018 LTD ride different are:
The use of 45 degree angled carbon fiber weave, which makes the 2018 LTD more flexible. So, if you though the 2017 felt a bit stiff, the 2018 will suit you more.
The double V-tips make the 2018 LTD better for load 'n' pop tricks and this aspect has definately improved. Again, this aspect might not be imprortant for everyone.
The step cap, thinner rails. These help to edge better and get a bit more grip.

Picked up the 2018 Neon today and had a quick session with it.
Much more playful and more comfortable than the 2017 in chop. Very happy with it. Finally found the perfect all-round board. If you like the 2017 then you'll love the 2018.
