Anyone tried the FixnZip zipper repairs for kite bags??

Postby joedy » Wed Aug 22, 2018 1:25 pm

From this site: https://www.fixnzip.com/

I've got a North kite bag with corroded and missing zippers. I'm curious if these repair zippers will be an easy fix. They're advertised as being able to repair or replace the zipper without needing to resew a complete new zipper assembly.

From their website blog:
"Will the FixnZip® rust in salt water?
No! It’s made of zinc and stainless steel and is completely non-corrosive. The FixnZip® is popular in the diving industry because of how well it works on wetsuit zippers, and there’s no risk of it ever rusting."
If anyone has tried one, could you comment on the size ordered and used for North kite bags? I believe that it is the medium Fixnzip size, but am not sure.

Used it on 2 of my north bags. for about 1-2 years, 1 of the bags I use daily.
Large size,
works decently
a bit fussy to install.
zipper has split or come loose a few times with it but always fixable and gets the job done.

For that price you might just be able to go to a luggage repair place and have them put on a new one. Cool product though
