Small Kites who is making them?

Postby Laughingman » Thu Sep 13, 2018 3:48 pm

Hi all

Since I started foiling I have realized a need for smaller kites!
my smallest is a 5m but its too big past 20 knots.
Who is making small kites?
I know BRM is but I just cannot justify the price he is asking. 1040 USD for a 3.7m no struts...

I bought a 4m Slinghot Rallye some years ago ; great but in 25-30 knots with my Hydrofoil, it was even too powerful in waves with my 60 kg ...
Now After good reviews of the new ram air Conceptair Wave 4.5m, I would choose this one if I had the money ...

The highest high end I know is the Genetrix hydra 7m that people use up to 60 knots ! enormous wind range ; I bought one recently to test ; on a surf in 35 knots ; enournous and safe depower, but heavy and it needs some pressure on rear lines to turn, so not comfortable for a HF use IMO , so I'll sell it again;

otherwise from what I know :

- Takoon log 3.5 m2
- Ozone Uno 4m2
- Airush DNA 4m2
- North Mono 3.5m2
- Nash ride 4m2
- Naish Bolt 3m2
- Slinghost RPM 4.5m2
- Some rare Strom voyager (around 3m2 as far as I remember)

If you can still find one, Ocean Rodeo's React 2m / 4-line depowerable inflatable trainer kite might work for ya. :thumb:

These are not that bad price wise really in comparison to the BMR they are 30 - 40% less.

Wish I knew if I will like the foil kites... might have a chance to test my A15 this afternoon...
