Impact Vest's Shocking Statement

Postby Barryg101 » Fri Sep 28, 2018 7:51 am

I've just received my impact vest and thought it would be a great way to give my body a bit of protecting during kiteloop crashed .

Amazingly on the outside of the vest it says impact protection and also on the website .

But inside the vest it clearly states THIS IS NOT AN IMPACT VEST .

So my question is does it actually give any impact protection or is it just another gimic? The padding feels almost like a sponge I don't believe it really helps with impact at all?

Would love your thoughts on this

Cheers

I have the same vest, I like it. It is similar to stretchy kitesurfing impact vests from other brands. Of course you can get heavier padded and bulkier ones. I think the disclaimer refers to impact vests used for example for horse riding or snowboarding where you have a solid protector for your spine.

It helps.
The text inside is just them covering themselves legally. If you look inside any life jacket it will tell you that it is not a life-saving device and will not prevent from drowning.

Basically it's to avoid someone wearing an impact vest in a car crash, getting injured, and suing them because he broke his back although he was wearing something that was supposed to protect him.
Or a more reasonable situation, if you're wearing an impact vest, get lofted into a tree and break your back, you can't sue them.

It's not that shocking...it's like the HOT warning on takeaway coffee.

Hahahaha it's more like ordering fish and chips and saying that there is no fish and chips inside the bag . But I get where your coming from 🤣

Glad to hear other users of the vest recommend it then , gives me a bit more piece of mind .

Cheers for your input 💪

True, if the chippy had lawyers though there would be a disclaimer stating there may or may not be fish and chips in the fish and chip wrapper and if there is fish the fish may have swam in water near a factory that contained nuts and any choking due to bones is your own fault

Not too shocking, considering everything these days comes with a disclaimer.

I thought it was going to say something offensive like "I'm not an impact vest, but clearly you already have enough padding built in....."

Or "SIZE XXXXL.....just go lay on the couch."

OR "Back hair?..........GROSS"

Impact vests can be such jerks.
