What is your favorite way to pump up the kite?

1 regular sized kite pump. Good warm up and exercises the back muscle which is your strongest muscle. Either I haven't tried the wmfg or I tried it and found out it only works your arms, not your back. I might also be short.

2 wmfg or other tall pump. I have seen the light wmfg tall pump is the best. I might also be very tall. Or maybe I have back problems. I preach the religion of wmfg to everyone I see

3 electric pump. I like gadgets. I still have to pump to finish it off so I'm not saving any time but the sound of that electric motor gives me a tingle. I might also have a waterproof android watch.

For number 3 you are saving time with a big kite. Years ago I had a 21.5m Cabrinha Blacktip with a leading edge about a foot in diameter. It saved time and energy pumping that beast up. Now I use an electric pump for my 16m xbow and to preinflate my 21m FS. Besides I'm getting old and I need all my energy for riding... :D

I think I called out WMFG previously on proprietary hose and proprietary nozzles. Life's too short for proprietary solutions and greed is not an excuse for that. They're not the best and I'd encourage everyone to not buy one. I use Singshot tall pump though.

Overall I don't enjoy inflating the kites but I can say that I saw more than enough pictures of girls smiling wide, butt an boobs sticking out, while obviously enjoying pumping the kite. We all need to learn their attitude and focus less on technicalities.

I couldn't change my attitude but fortunately foiling moved me to ride smaller sizes and pumping a 5m-7m-9m wings is not that bad of a deal with any pump.

On a serious note - Happy Halloween everyone!

I use a taller WFMG pump now (other brand, the current is labelled Liquid Force but the same), and earlier the classic taller WFMG pump.

Excellent for fewer strokes initially, but somehow one have to really remember to think to pull all the way up, it is IMO not a very natural position to stand with your hands out in front of you, so you can not pump as hard from up there, unless you are a lot over 6 feet high maybe.

So a bit shorter wider pump would be good IMO :naughty:

But on the other hand, one can inflate really fast and easy initially where no pressure is needed, pulling up high - and then just end up with short strokes down low for the last higher pressure to finalize - so it is a 2 in 1 with a tall pump.

A tall narrow pump makes absolutely no sense unless you need to inflate SUPs or similar

I mostly use an electric pump to fill up most of it...but then I use a normal pump to put pressure in, sicne the electric pump is not a pressure pump...what shall I vote for?

why would you need to still use a regular pump after using an electric pump? My electric pump has no problem to properly inflate my kites
