At my local spot then if its very light winds, its hydrofoilers using foil kites, 12 to 15mtr maximum
and even if its very windy, the same guys are out on their foil boards, with maybe a few using foil kites and others on lei kites.
foil kite use has really grown in the last two years at my sailing locations, some hydrofoil guys even going totally over to foil kites and ditching the pump.
A couple of months over on fuerteventura coming up very soon,it will be interesting to see how the ttip and foil kite/foil board user numbers have changed

First it was "what's that weirdo doing out there with a surfboard and a kite".
.
Then it was "what's that weirdo doing out there with a ram air kite". That was me in Ventana in 2002.
.
Now it's "wow, I can't figure out if I should get an LEI or a ram air?".
.
Soon it will be, ya, you guessed it, "what's that weirdo doing out there with an LEI. What a dinosaur".

Same at the spots I kite. More and more ppl are buying foil kites, especially at places that do not have a lot of wind they are becoming more and more popular. Also, many LEI kiters are asking me if they can try my FS soul.
It even becomes popular in windier locations though. I was visiting Tarifa this year and there were three guys on a hyperlink at around 25 knots.

Yes been there and seen the same view.
but if your looking for any foil kites on foil boards you will rarely see them looking for wind on the beach or in the shallows.
they are the lucky few,you can see way upwind blasting around,in their own apparent wind

I'm willing to bet that is never a reality.
.... but keep on thinking it. You know - the power of positivity and all that.

Had a 15 and 18m Sonic Flysurfer before.
Sold them both.
Now on Pivot 8/9/10/12 and honestly don't see the point of having Ram anymore.
One of my good buddies who foils on a daily basis had a Chrono and had a huge issue the kite falling and tangling. He sold it a few days after and went on the Pivot only for foiling.
