Could have done it today, but would have been tricky for the timing. The hour from 7Pm to sunset at 8PM would have worked, see graph. Hopefully the wind will ramp up a little earlier on Wednesday. I did a long downwinder on 9m and surfboard, and encountered Kevin, Nick, and Lasse, at least, practising just north of Kite Beach around 5PM. Then a jumping sunset session on 7m at Dolphin beach.

Possible 1 pm start? Seems a bit early - I hope they wait for the
real wind to kick in in the late afternoon instead of starting that early! Would be nice to finally get a KOTA final with a serious Cape Doctor of 40+ knots!

I'm sure they will wait for the wind to fill in. Here's today's graph. I did a long downwinder on 7m from 13:30 to 17:00, and late in the day it was blowing hard. Hopefully similar or more tomorrow. Unfortunately no waves today, but maybe a bit more tomorrow for ramps.

The wind blew all night and is still blowing, albeit perfect for me but no KOTA, but it should ramp up this afternoon. I'll be there by noon to get parking, set up my kite, maybe ride a bit, then watch the show, then ride again afterwards. Good times!

It's a pity there is no swell today so no kickers to get any decent height. The sea is going to be a choppy mess. It will favour the guys that are used to not using kickers to get their height. Sunday has some decent swell and strong wind but I guess it would be too risky running the comp on the last day of the waiting period.
