Hey guys, I'd like to film friends moves and my aerial perspective while kiting.
Langerees videos turn out quite spectacular.
Would you know what the setup is, i.e. which camera and which mouth mount?
Would you recommend it, or are there possibly downsides to consider?
I am pretty sure he just bites on the orange floaty attached to the back of gopro..
You would need to lick the lens from time to time to reduce drops and fogging
Do all GoPros have that floaty, or is it part of some sort of housing?
Biting on that might not be safe for your teeth in case of a crash?
I did find dedicated mouthmounts that are apparently rather safe looking on big webshops.
Kevin Langeree uses the floaty. For GoPro 5-7 you need the solid back door of the housing to stick the floaty on. I believe it comes in a set.
I think Kevin just puts the camera under the front zipper of his wetsuit when he his riding and not filming.
I attach mine with a leash to my impact vest and put it under the vest when I do not need it.
Never had issues on crashes.
This is what I have been doing for years, first saw Dimitri@Epic using his GoPro this way in Hatteras.
Pretty simple really and I prefer using a waterproof housing anyway as it protects the camera even more.
The Hero 7 Black seems to come without a housing.
Do you guys think of something like a Hero 7 and this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Deyard-Waterpr ... JZX7HKKYDX?
Does the floaty come with the camera or does it have to be bought separately as well?
Bernie, only the last one will fit on the Hero 5-7 and yes it is sold separately and NO the Gopro Will come with housing. Why don’t you read on the internet?
Kevin uses the floaty to bite on but better buy the mouth mount, it comes with a floaty.
I use that mount for all my vlogs and I really like it because I clip it to my impact vest when not using it. I use the Session 5 though which is quite a bit smaller.
Jake Kelsick uses the grill mount https://www.prostandard.com/products/the-grill-mount and I bought one and while it's more comfortable in your mouth it hangs too low and hits my chest and also lacks the ability to clip on to anything.
I use the official go pro mount and prefer the grill mount personally. With the grill mount you can hook it into the edge of your harness when not in use.
NB. I use a leash on my go pro mount so if it did fall off it wouldn't be lost. You have to be a bit more meticulous to make sure that the leash isn't in frame but if you aren't getting free cameras its a lot cheaper than losing one.
