Hello guys and girls,
Anyone has experience with a waterproof ipx8 speaker when kiting? I would love to add music but I hate earphones or earbuds, and now in winter with a tight neoprene hood it is impossible. I am thinking of getting a waterproof speaker and streaming the music from my Apple watch.
Is it a thing? Where can I attach the speaker - to the harness?? Will BT work and playing resolve given possible signal interruptions if submerged?
All other ideas are welcome as well!

Are you serious? Do that in most spots I know and you will be the laughingstock of the beach.
You will annoy people around you with your music
Regards!

Wow, that was kinda harsh.
I’ve had the same thoughts about sticking a speaker on my foil board. It’s sooo quiet and I’m always far away from others (cause I guess music on a sunny day outside can really irritate some). I started adding earbud music this summer and combined with foiling it’s a whole different dimension!
My set up works with head wear so I haven’t changed it. But, I do like the idea of speaker on nose of board so no wires to mess with.
So no answer to OP, but I’m looking too.

I absolutely love listening to music while I kite but I never thought of a external speaker. How much memory does the iwatch hold? I could see it being kinda annoying for others if you are in a busy spot though.

Besides of looking like an a**hole you will annoy people around you with your music.

Yikes! kinda of an a**hole comment dude no reason to get so aggressive. Looking like a**hole is a personal thing I guess but I do agree with annoying everyone else, we all have different tastes in music and honestly I like to listen to the ocean, seagulls & wind while I kite otherwise it is just another hectic noisy day so I feel as a respect to nature and others if u want music get some waterproof earbuds and keep it to yourself.
At some point I did get some waterproof earbuds to work with my iphone while doing downwinders but the signal did get cut-off from time to time when I was in the water, I feel the best solution still is a wired setup.

I usually kite in Nahant MA, on Dog Beach. It is never busy, we kite quite a distance from each other so my quiet music will bother nobody. Apple Watch 3 LTE has 16GB, this is more than enough for a good playlist. The issue is that Bluetooth doesn’t work under water. Obviously I am not going to dive, but both watch and the speaker probably will get submerged at times and the signal will be lost, I don’t know if it gets reconnected and playing resumes magically. Ideal solution as I see it - waterproof speaker with a memory card. This is in theory though, so I am interested in talking to someone who did it

I apologize for my harsh comment.
At least if you decide to kite with speakers don't listen to reggaeton music
(that's why I hate so much these gadgets)
Fair winds!
