I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I can't find it. By now I have a variety of old kites lying around. My wife disposed of my three old C-kites and will not even tell me what she did with them. But now I have about 10 old bow kites that I will never ride again, so what to do with them???
Here is another company that reuse kites for some cool looking jackets and other things: https://www.exkite.it

Hugh,
make board bags or compression bags or garage curtains or beach flags of desperately old/unsafe ones
and pass anything recoverable to poor who have enough time to play with Aquaseal, ripstop/dacron tape and sewing machine to get gear they can't afford otherwise. West Hansen gave away lots of old equipment and parts and so he'd accept more to pass along, he was specifically mentioning this on Chicago forum.
