Not all do the extreme kiting so the rules don't apply to me and I can use my shitty old worn out gear instead of replacing items that wear naturally with use.
This is a dangerous and unwise mindset. Kiting is not a sport for people who pinch pennies on safety related equipment.

Welcome to the forum, yes, we're all assholes.

Off course you dont do the candle trick on lines that show heavy wear! People should also use their brains.

There is no picture which for sure would help in advicing. I'm talking (as written) about the usual "wear" that you get already quite soon at the position where your lines cross when looping. You want to avoid that the lines get rough and then cross as then they wear really fast which is where the candle trick helps a lot to extend line life.

Cheers

I should not replay to the mossy 757 respond, but just cannot hold back, he did call himself nice person I do like that, he does at least know where he stands!
Next time please do not temper with my text.
I am coming for Windsurfing and just did not want to start kiting as there are too many Mossy people at this sport just not making it fun to be around.
But hell I do know there are good friendly people at this sport too so I will stay and just shake my head and smile.
All a save, fun time on the water :D

Well you did not (might have to read again) I know that this sport does attract people like you but I do like the sport so I will have to deal with people like you from the distance at least.
:) Just get over it.

Fine according to some, not fine according to others ;)

Lines are perfectly fine to revert, shorten, and make your own loops. The one's who bin them, just looove binning. The matter of resources, less needs.

You can't gain back strength by coating lines. Coat them before your first session! Maybe extend the life a little be careful about the temperature too hot and you ruin the dyneema

If its the part where they rub because of looping.... I take a candle, rub it on the areas, then close my hand around the line and move up and down repeatingly. The parafin then nicely melts on/in the line. Works good enough for me.
Does it help to watch pornography?
