Hi Guys
I am currently running a survey concerning injuries in kitesurfing, influenced by material development and modern safety devices and I am still looking for participants who are willing to answer my really short questionnaire (approx. 5-10 min). The study aims for aquiring my masters degree at Kiel University, Germany, so it's really important!!
You will find the survey, including an english version via:
www.soscisurvey.de/Kitesurfing2019/
If you have any comments on the language used in the questionnaire (because I am obviously not a native english speaker), feel free to comment this post!
Greetings to all you kitesurfers in the world!
THANKS! <3
Jens

I did it as wel, quick and easy!
Just want to point out something: except rare and specific situations, board leash is not a safety device, actually using it it’s a very good way to get injured!
Would love to see the results of this study when ready!

Good luck with your study.
There can be (a lot) more to kiting ability than trick evolution.
In my experience poor judgment, including my own, has been a major contributing cause to most problems and injury. This has been more often the case than material or equipment failure, particularly with newer kite systems.

Hi,
yes and of course I am aware of that. The categorization might be a bit misleading but I reckon that it will do the trick to establish a connection between let's say possible head injuries and making use of board leashes. So there could be always two sides of the medal (do u say that in english
? ) : the development of devices which possibly reduce injuries and material that causes injuries (not only board leashes but eg. hydrofoils) . This will be a leading question in this survey. I am looking forward inspecting the data =)

done with survey. It would be interesting if you share your thesis or summary of conclusions later.
