Core Nexus vs Airush Lithium (can be compared?)

Postby PusherII » Fri Feb 01, 2019 7:56 pm

Hi guys, due to interesting deals, i'm beetween those 2 kites. Nexus would come in 13.5m and 10m, Lithium in 14m and 10m
What i look in a kite:

-Fun. Looking for pretty fast turning and direct feel, pop edge, hooked backroll and frontroll (and wanna learn unhooked), small waves iven if i run a tt board
-Low end/grunty, as i am 95kg and sometimes some waves so i need some extra power. Really hate when a kite have poor low end. Usually when we have 13 knox i can see peples with 12m, and is hard for me to go with a 14m (even because i use a not light wind friendly board)

Could we say these kite can be similar in some way? I read everywhere Lithium is a beginner kite, but i think is lot more that that because is a 3 strut kite and cannot be compared with usual 5 struts beginner kite (cabrina sb for example).

Pretty much both have exelent quality building, probably core is N1 on this aspect
Despite i red lot of positives review about lithium, it seems it is slower. But actually i own a 17m and it go really
good in this aspect. But never tried other sizes.

Previous kite i tried

F1 BANDIT 10 and 14 Totally loved the 10, this is what i mean when i say a fun kite. 14 is more anonymous. Both kite leaks some low ends. 14m pull too much in high end too
Slingshot Rally 10 and 12m 12m is a pig truck slow but great low end very gruny and send you to the moon. Too much bar pressure. 10m lot of fun, exelent kite
Cabrina Fx 8m and 12m Very funny but very poor low and in my opinion
Lithium 17m With large bar, fast as no big kite i've tried before. Very funny
Core Xr5 10m and 13,5m Meanwhile 13,5m at the end of the day i like it because is very grunty and lot low end, huge boosting and exelent high end also. Never liked the 10m, it pull too much and already at 24-25knox is difficult. Also, both kites cant change direction too fast, and not as direct as i like it. Both kites go super in upwind, and both are very hard to pop edge

if you want to start learning some unhooked tricks ,better stay away from the lithium, there are a lot of better options to choose, even sb will do much better

Ok got It.
But 2 main thing i look for are fun and low end. And no others option a part lithium and Nexus.
Would somebody here define lithium a slow boring kite?
10 would come 2018 model, 14 still not sure if 2017 or 2018

With your weight you might be better of with 11/15m set and take larger size as specific LW kite rather than free ride kite stretched to maximum size. Freeride allround kite in sizes 14m are for heavy riders 100kg+
What are your usual wind conditions at your spot?
14m and your 95kg will require 14-15kts and let you ride up to 22kts.
I made small mistake myself when buying switchblade 14m when I should buy LW kite instead.

My spot is not dreamy, basically when wind is more than 15-16 often we have pretty big sea. And i mostly use a 13.5 core xr5 that actually feets very good the wind condition in the range 13-17.
I already have in my quiver:

7m lithium 2015, just bought because i founded a crazy deal exelent shape and paied very very few. Still never flied, but so smallish kite are all pretty quick and fun, so i think i'm ok.
17m lithium 2016 that i appreciate particulary because it's quicker than every big kite i aver tried, includin 13.5 xr, 14 bandit 2014 and 12 rally 2014. Maybe is for the smartbar 62cm, dont now but that's it. As i know i cannot ask a supreme fun to a such bigger kite, i particularly love it because it move fast and i can create good appartent wind.

As my spot is not super so windy and we kite just sometimes, we can keep not so new kites, specially for sizes like 7 and 17. I probably use my 7-8m kite 4-5 times in a year. 17m something more i'd say, but not more that 10-15times

10 and 13.5 xr5 that i am selling because i dont have fun, too slow turning and some weird feelings specially on the 10m
