Hello,

Has anyone had any experience with the North or Duotone Monos for decent wave riding?

I couldn't find much about these kites, so hoped someone could give some first hand feedback.

Many thanks!

I have the 12 from 2016/17 I think. Use it for foiling 8-13 knots, and for waveriding up to 16/17. I like it in it's lower end, has loads of power and relaunches suprisingly well. Drift also not too shabby for a 12 but not as good as my smaller dedicated wavekites. One thing to keep in mind: it's grunty, so as soon as you become powered up, it pulls and keeps pulling. So not ideal for waves when the wind starts picking up, so then you need to size down. This is the 12 though - smaller sizes are probably less grunty. Overall I have heard they have plenty of power per size, so keep that in mind when choosing a quiver.

I had the 7 mostly foe foiling from 15-17kts
Used it a few times in small waves and it was great.
I now use Boxers for foiling and light wind wave sailing, they work great but not in the upper windrange (not "rock solid" like 3-struts kites)
One (and no) strut kites are fur sure grunty, you can ride a size smaller

on the 2017s, Mono 12m was very nice. Didn't like the smaller sizes when overpowered. As if it likes to ride under or at-power... Waiting for the 2019 Mono to get a 13m for foiling...

Waves, get a NEO or EVO, more fun along the wind envelope...
