what is slack?

I was reading the review of a kite saying it has no slack, what does it mean?

The rebel has no slack so it's hard to do handle passes on it.

Pretty much nailed it. But I would distinguish between front line slack (catastrophic to most kites) and rear line slack (a few amazing kites can still steer with somewhat slacked rear lines just from the wind resistance on the lines - like extremely low bar pressure kites). Control of the (a particular) kite has quite a lot to do with the difference in slack between the front and rear lines.
