I was amazed at how high quality and how stable the live cast feed worked this year, really enjoyed it.

Was at the beach on day 1, awesome to watch it live again :D
(Day 1 in the morning btw, had the very best waves in Melkbos seen in a loooong time :naughty: )

Went back to Denmark 5 days later, so saw Day 2, the last 4 heats, live streaming, really impressed of the feed and video, and quite rare they missed jumps eventhough they sometimes had to focus on only one rider :thumb:

So no, I can not reckognize it should be bad videocoverage, as some said in the other thread

Big bay with the rocks behind gives even better camera background yes, but there is not sufficient beach there now...
Whereas KiteBeach/TableView is massive and wide :D

I agree, the livestream was very good.
replays came in quickly, didn't miss anything like previous years.
Moderation also with lots of background info.

Don’t forget the sun talking about filming!
If they film from water level they need to film into the sky...being a west facing beach and action starts after midday, the sun is right there!

Didn’t people already complain about the quality of the light? Guess how much they will complain then !
I am not sure what you are referring to.

Light conditions were excellent. See these videos for some amazing shots from the beach.

let it get later in the day...the light will be bad for filming.

So the main cameras are steady...and they won't move them during the day...so they pick a location which can handle bad light too.
Not sure if you saw last years streams. the late ones were hard to see against the sun...

Well, I do not know what you are talking about, but I think this thread is about the KOTA 2019 which could have well been filmed from a beach perspective, as the above videos show.

Also, afaik cameras nowadays tend to be portable. So, move them if the lighting gets bad. I think this is a standard procedure for outdoor events. :-)

Out of this vid the trick i liked the best was the super high super boned and stretched board off. So much style and flow. Tho some of the other tricks were technically more difficult they just look urgent twisty twisty for the sake or additional rotations/points. They don't actually flow as nice or look as stylish, plus they are a lot lower.
