Yes - those are not at water level. Water level would mean putting the camera at beach level (more or less) on the shoreline.

Well.. Thanks for the compliments but I'm only human. My feet were in the water and so were the feet of my buddies who took these shots on January 31st right at the waterline.

Just saying: taking the shot from lower down makes the jump look more spectacular - doesn't mean you're obliged to do it!
