nothing but good thingsHpr wrote: ↑Fri Aug 02, 2019 2:28 pmYes, it is extremely crowded, and getting worse every year. So much so that, from about mid Dec until after KOTA, I try to avoid the stretch from Dolphin Beach past Kite Beach up to Doodles, which is prime area for big air boosting. The mix of herds of downwinding directional riders (who typically think they always have right of way since they are lawnmoving near any particular wave) going perpendicular past masses of twintip riders that vary from inexperienced novices getting destroyed by the conditions, intermediates learning to jump and experienced guys jumping over and through the mess is just plain dangerous. Throw in a mix of testosterone, ego, adrenalin, lack of common sense, bad attitude and tempers, apart from the odd line tangle I am actually surprised there aren’t more serious accidents. Something that does clear the crowds quite nicely is when the SE gets over 30 knots, so early evenings is the best time to kite that stretch during peak season.
