Bungee safety line, where to get?

Postby omg » Thu Feb 07, 2019 12:06 pm

So I want to convert my Core Sensor 2+ Pro bar to low V and hence I need to do a single front line safety system and remove the Core's own "single" line release system which effectively doesn't release to one line completely.

However, I want to keep the Core's plastic depower lines through the bar, but by keeping it, I need to find a bungee cord which takes the slack out of the system when depower is used.

So, my problem is where to find this bungee cord which can take a load when the kite is released to single line safety (ie. this cord would take this load). The cord cannot be overly thick, say 4mm or so. Any idea where to find it, please?
Some bar systems used to use these like Ozone and North, but I don't know how thick they are and where to find.

This is what I am basically after, but preferably a shorter version: Image

Help highly appreciated!

Depends on which length you need.
You can order it or DIY (not very hard) or have it made for you.
E.g. https://ozonekites.net/proddetail.asp?p ... out_bungee

if you can't find the right length as a spare part from any brand you can make it yourself. Most common is 3mm bungee cord that is spliced into the core of a dyneema line with the thickness you desire. Just make sure the outer dyneema line takes up the load , otherwise your internal bungee snaps the first time it gets loaded during a flagout.

I can also make one to spec, price will be around €20.- depending on your exact wishes. Shipping costs should be minimal for such a lightweight item.
