Beginner in Fuerteventura

Postby Loris_verona » Mon Feb 11, 2019 3:08 pm

Hello people! i'm from Verona (North of Italy) and i'm very happy to join this group :D Honestly i'm not a really beginner. I have done about 30 "rides" on the Garda Lake. But in the last two seasons (2017 and 2018) i didn't touch my board  for health problems.. Now i'm fine and i really would like to start again Kitesurfing. At the end of March i'll be in Fuerteventura for a 2 weeks vacation. I'd like to take some private lessons, in order to recover some technique skills and reacquaint myself again with this beautiful sport! Can you please sugget any spot in Fuerteventura, where i can find a school, rescue service and also rent the gear?
Thanks upfront for any information!!
Ciao

Check for the lagoon in the southern part of Fuerteventura. Depending on the tide this could be a good spot.

Check for the right time otherwise it might be dry.

From 18 March to 24 March it seems to be with water ( https://www.rene-egli.com/fileadmin/use ... 019_de.pdf )
Maybe start there, then move out to the open water spots.

The biggest kite school certainly is Rene Egli. However, there are other schools that offer services there.

Flag beach.
Sotavento.
Matas Bay.
All are great on their day,
Flag and Matas definitely have more good days in the off season, Oct to May.
All have great teaching centers with safety back up.
You are used to boat launches being centered around Lake Garda, so Flag beach will suit well for that, but I would guess you just need a mornings one to one tuition and encouragement to get back into the swing of things🤔
Give Gunnar a ring who will sort you out with just that, and enjoy the massive sailing area on offer at flag,
Look up Gunnar's details at __ The Boardroom, Fuerteventura, Gunnar kite surfing Pro.
