Are you always progressing your riding?

Postby karolinakite » Wed Feb 20, 2019 4:31 am

Hello everyone,
How is your kiteboarding progression going at the moment?
I am asking because at the moment I will be releasing tricks progression tutorials on my Youtube Channel. They aren't typical tutorials, as I feel there needs to be a story behind progressing to the next level. There are multiple factors responsible for learning new tricks. Sometimes we want to progress in a direction that is not good for us. We get inspired by 'pro riders' that very often spend 100x more time on the water than us.
This is why I am inviting you to go back to your basics and make them look badass!

cheers
K

Toby, you are the boss at learning new tricks! Are you still progressing as much as before? Do you reckon you could still double you tricks number? or is it too hard to double now? I feel that there are so many variations of each trick when adding different grabs, that I can definitely double or even triple the number of tricks I can do now. Of course, it's not so easy when doing tricks unhooked but at least it keeps me excited every time I hit the water :)

Yes, I am.
Currently at 2405 filmed tricks and another 1400+ ideas.

Grabs...well...according to Snowboarfing or Wakeboarding they have 20 different grabs...which is just stupid.

I only differ between Nose, Tail and Indy grab.

Otherwise I need to film 10000 tricks which is just a nogo.

I hope Marc Jacobs and Aurelien P push the things with Megaloops further, since I am not a looper but know there is so much more amazing tricks possible.

Progression is just fun and I hope everyone does it and can enjoy even more.

I try to.

I jump higher than I have ever now and my loops are much bigger than ever before.

I try new stuff here and there but generally ride with what I already have in my pocket.
