Question about the Helium construction, do these boards truly flex? This can be tested when you put the board upside down on the floor and then push down at the centre of the board by hand and see if it flexes noticeably? Some of my boards have this (flex a couple of centimeters when pushed) and it can be truly felt on the water with softer landings and overall comfortability.
I wonder if the helium tech has this feature?
Thanks!

I bought an Evo Helium construction last fall and have been kiting it maybe 10-15 times (choppy onshore waves, fully lit in 20-30 kn). It definitely flexes --- but not in a good sense since I have pretty deep depressions under my front foot and you can feel the board top layer separating from the foam. I use a full deck pad (NSI EVA pad pretty thick...) and still. This has not happened on my LFT vader nor LFT vanguard which have some depression after a few years of use.
So I won't buy another Helium board and the Evo will go in for a fix in the shop where I will have them re-inforce with a layer of Carbon on top.

Thanks man, I haven't come across the delam issue, but good to know. As mentioned there are several boards which do flex in good way, so perhaps I focus on those although there was a "bargain" on used Evo Helium.

Not sure if that helps, but I have the Firewire Vader Helium and it does flex. No problem with delam. If that is the case, it is probably a production issue with that board only or it was exposed to heat for too long.

It flexes but on the stiff side.
Helium construction.......Delam? Deep depressions??? Really? How long was it cooking in the sun ;;;()
I have used my 4'10 evo helium for over a year, no pads all wax, big jumps and hard riding. Nearly no depressions on the board. My old FST however, a couple of jumps on the first day and it had a couple of depressions right away.

As you are even using LFT boards....are you sure your Evo Helium is the kite construction?
Been using my Helium Vader for over a year and basically no dents.
And I really abuse it more than use it

I have probably 70+ days on mine, strapless and strapped, and jump the sh*t out of it and barely a heel dent. As for the flex, it does ok and is in the medium/stiff range. Flexes a lot less than my broken FST

Seem to be the only one with the Helium issue... Will post some pics on the weekend and drop a mail to FW before picking up the tab for the repair..
