A pretty comprehensive independent test review of kites and boards for 2019 gear. I wonder why same kite sizes were not used against the brands? I know my 8m performs very differently to my 10 and 12 yet in one test here the sizes varied from these across brands. Similarly with light wind the test was on 13m to 17M. Again my 15 is very different flying to my 17. My opinion. Makes for a good read though.

Link Here for those of you unaware.
I think this is excellent. Even if all the data is wrong, it is still a very interesting read.
They do seem to like the Bandit a lot, and it comes with a full spread advertisement.
I do like that they weighed all of their kites though. There are a lot of other technical details to read as well.

No Ozone and no Shinn.
Was it the case that only the brands who paid had their kit tested?

Always with the negativity. Maybe not every brand was sending them gear to test, maybe they thought the review of those brands would be the most interesting. I highly doubt the Kold brand has heaps of money to throw around.

what do you expect?
The magazine to test for free?
Completely ok to only support the brands that support the mag.
If it is missing, you can go ahead and test it in your spare time and write an article and post it here. For free of course.

I've never thought much about it but I would expect the brands to make their kites avaiable for testing and for the magazine to test them for free yes. It makes for interesting reading, therefore sales of the magazine no ? If the brands would lend me their kites then I would defenately be willing to test them and write an artice here about it, for free off course.

Yeah, exactly that. I would expect the brands to give them the kit to test for free and then the magazine write about them.
If only the brands who pay get tested then it gives no credibility to the testing, it becomes a total farce.
How do we know that the awards they gave weren't also given to the brand who paid the most?

No Airush. Hard to believe the Ultra and the Union are not in there.
No Moses either especially when the 633 was a big hit last year.

Would be nice to know if they pay to get them tested or not. The problem is if you give them a bad review they're not going to give you their gear again. That's why I like reading Wetestkites. Are there really bad kites anymore? Or just ones bad for your riding style?

You never find anything negative about the gears they tested. Paid advertisement is all it is, I won't give them too much credence
