Shortened Pigtails

Postby justaguy » Sat Mar 09, 2019 1:01 am

hey gang. I had to shorten my left and right pigtails this winter because I nicked one with my snowboard edge by accident while packing up. I couldn't find new pigtails to replace I guess because this kite is discontinued (CORE FREE 8M) I shortened them by about 1 inch but obviously didn't adjust the length of the bridles. I haven't been able to use this kite because i'm uncertain how this will effect flying. I'm just a rider and not a tech. Can anyone advise what the effects of this will be and if I should seek professional assistance.

You dont write which pigtails, frontline or rearlines?

Assume it is rearlines as many kites dont have on the frontlines.

If you shorten the rear pigtails one inch, you have to pull the depower one inch, and the kite flies exactly the same :thumb:

You can just depower by an inch to compensate.
