Where do you draw the line.

Brazilian innovation!

Seriously though, all surf wax has resin which is basically glue. The stickiness will wear off like all wax. A lot of surfing involves moving your feet,so it will interfere with that. Similarly tricks like spinning the board etc. May as well use straps. I saw that strapless thread title, not inclined to read it. Point of strapless is to not be stuck to the board. For many reasons, some being more difficulty and versatility.

Plain old sticky bumps. A good double density coat with hard on the bottom can last a good long while if you keep it out of the hot car.

Love a bit of the really sticky stuff (I've only used punt wax) for those perfect punting days, but it ruins the wax job underneath in no time. Don't find it loses stickiness from getting wet, but more from getting dirty, or blended with other wax from heat. Stuff is a nightmare on wetsuits, clothing, car interior or anything else it come in contact with. Even the interior of my board bag gets nasty from that stuff.

Best used sparingly!

I've used sticky bumps punt wax and it is way stickier than any pad in water with booties on.

Awe, the guy looking away from the train wreck is the guy the railroad investigators most want to talk to.

My impression of surf wax with or without booties was always that it was there primarily for grip against horizontal sliding. The super sticky stuff does hold the board to your feet just enough to compensate for less than perfect technique when doing rotations in kitesurfing. But if you really blow it, the board is still going to be gone.
