Too old to be really worth anything I reckon.

I wouldn't even have it taking up garage space for free.

just wondering, how is it so radically different from newer switchblades?

Horrendous bar pressure and a wonky AF safety system would be my assessment vs. a modern Switchblade.

I wouldn't know the technical differences of kite / bar manufacture over 10 years.

I just personally wouldn't trust my life to gear that old (even though "new") some people would, just not me personally so for me it has no value.

A guy I kite with was out on his 2010 Switchblade the other day. No problems for him. I don't now if it's worth much, but I think it's fine to kite with.

Dude seriously? Apart from the kite's habit to invert and hover, it never jammed and if your main line snapped you could still fly on the safety line. And if you snapped a front line you could still safety the kite.

Honestly, single front safety is a step backwards.

Still flying my 2010 xbows with the original bars. Bar pressure is a bit high. My forearms are now like Popeye's. :P

Yeah seriously. Those two are pretty big negatives that are more probable than the unlikely variable of having to fly the kite back with a snapped line. I haven't snapped a line so I can't comment on flying it with a busted line but that may be one minor positive. Sure IDS kept the kite rolled onto it's back, but I've never had an instance where I wish I had IDS vs. a single line flag. I've never had a single line jam on me while deploying either so your experience may vary.

I know this in regards to a 2010 bar, but I have to think back to my 2014 Cabrinha bar that was an overly complicated piece of shit that sunk like an anchor. (mini 5th line, mechanical width adjusters, springy depower handles, and the best part......chicken loop with TWO releases? ) I've never hated a piece of equipment more than that bar. I won't be convinced the industry is taking steps backwards in regards to safety and not building better bars. Just a quick comparison of Cab's own Trimlite bar, North/Duotone Click or Trust bar, Ozone's new bar or even BRM's bar to the 2014 Cab IDS bar. If IDS was a better system I think the industry would have adopted it.

Less is more.

ugh.......even the picture of this bar makes me ill.

I think they lost the plot with bars after 2011. Is that actually an IDS bar? Were the mini-fifth lines bars called that? I thought the double front reride (remember that phrase?) was the thing.

Which brings us back to the issues with the fashion statement that is single front safety....

I have had the safety line break on me and that wasn't fun. No way to secure the kite except hand over hand up a line to get enough to wrap.

I didn't like the original Overdrive bars, but the latest ones don't seem to have as much weight at the ends. And Overdrive bars are the only ones that come with strap adjusters so you're stuck.

The second QR ditches the whole thing. I see no issue there. No searching for the leash QR... Same idea as the BRM bar :D

Crossbow bar pressure after even 2009 was way less than Switchblades... What were you flying?

Less *is* more... Unless it's a cleat. Useless crap.

And honestly, I've walked across a lagoon with a 16m Crossbow I had to safety after a 40 knot squall came through. It was easier walking a kite flying on it's back than carrying it, like I had to last month when the cleat chewed through my main lines...!
