How about a harness with a slider or a ring, with no hook?
How about micro chickenloop which needs to be opened to hook in?
How about gusty winds, when you need a good helper who will only release “when a gust comes”? Followed by rodeo of punches and slacking lines, until you ride or get further out from the launch

Honestly you should save the popcorn for the kooks trying to launch unhooked. Much more entertaining to watch the havoc they cause than the way 99.9% of other kiters do it more safely.
I would be entertained except for the loss of access and potential bans.

Kiters should always try to control the kite. Unhooking is going to just make that harder. This threads title is contradictory. It Should be

"Possibly make launching safer but probably not for you the selfish kiter, while seriously endangering everyone around you"

Are you the person who made the "Quand se hooker?" video? Thanks very much, great video and I'm sure it will help to reduce launch accidents. You already made a few safety videos, please do more both in French and English so people can watch them! For example realistic self-rescue NOT in 3ft of glassy water with 3bf wind, how to help riders in distress etc. etc.

I watch you French videos quite often, love them and they help me improve my riding.
