In addition to better relaunch and turning, the Soul is more stable than the Speed. Perhaps, not a big deal for smooth ocean wind, but snowkiting or on inland lakes, it is a world of difference.
I did same...the only downside, and I mean the only one, is bar pressure. Souls are heavier in the bar feel.

Not much. I run against sonic races and r1v2's and with a race wing I don't feel much disadvantage if any.
