Size bar for a 9m Slingshot RPM

Postby MV240497 » Tue Apr 16, 2019 5:24 am

Hi, I have a 2016 slingshot RPM of 9 meters. I havent buy the bar yet because I am not sure if i need a 17 inches or a 20 inches bar, both have 20 meter lines. The users manual says that i can use a 17 inches, but when I ask in online stores they said that I need a 20 inches bar. I am a begginer so maybe that can change which bar i need.

Thanks, I hope you can help me to choose which bar size i need.

A 20" bar works nicely with a 9m RPM, it's what I would buy.

It would probably be best to have a 20" bar package with 23m lines which are 20m with 3m extensions, then you could try 20m and 23m line lengths to see which length you prefer.

You would also be able to use the 20" bar with a bigger kite in the future which would work best with a 20" bar and probably 23m lines.

It will probably be cheaper to buy 20m+3m lines as part of a package now rather than buying 20m lines and then later buying 3m extensions.

Really depends what kinda riding you want to do, generally speaking you will get the most use out of the 20" bar, especially as a beginner. The slingshot bars usually come with 20m + 3m extensions in 20".
Keep in mind that the kite will be more reactive/faster with a bigger bar.

So, it will work with a 17" bar but the kite will move more slow?
I all ready have a 17" bar so I dont need to buy another?

You should have said to start with that you already have a 17" bar!

The 9m RPM will work with a 17" bar, you will have to be more positive when turning but you'll soon adapt.

I've flown these kites and I would go with the 20" on a 9m. Definitely works best in that size and the most versatile size of Slingshot's bars.

I use a 17" bar with my 10m rpm and my 9m core xr5 for free riding. When riding wakestyle I use a 14" bar on my 7/9/10/12 kites if its light and Im on my 17m turbine then I use a 17" bar.

So a 17" bar will work with a 9m rpm.
