Wetsuit for a fat bloke ;-)

Postby sergei Scotland » Sun Apr 28, 2019 7:57 pm

Sad but i have a 39.5 (100) waist which and only 41.7 or 42 chest, 96 kg 211 pounds.
Add 6'2 height (188) and the only make which fits me (almost) on paper seems to be Mystic XL which is 41-44 chest and 35-38 waist. As I am still comfortable wearing 38 jeans i guess this should work. I tried it actually and while it is difficult to get wetsuit up my bum it seems comfortable enough, but i'd love to try and find something better fitting as chest is like at the bottom of the range and I do have some loose neopren in the underarm area.

I am also somewhat worried that suit will not live long because of too much stretch in the waist (39.5 where designed to be 36-38).
Should I simply go for stretchiest neopren - i.e. Majestic and hope for the best?
Any other makes do sizes for fat blokes? I am basically looking for bigger waist for chest 42 -- most makes do only 34-36 waist for 42 chest?
Or should i ignore waist number as most people say that chest and height are most important?
Sorry for a stupid question - buying online makes it difficult to try several makes really...

Did you not learn to shut your piehole when you have nothing to say? Question was not: stupid advice for losing weight needed. Fkn peanut ...

You have to try them sergei. Even with the numbers it is hard to point you in a direction. Driving to the next good store would be good if online does not work for you. Call them before to make sure that they have something for you tho. Good luck finding one!

"Shutting your piehole" when you don't need to eat is likely to result in a far larger choice of wetsuits which will comfortably fit. Rocket science I know, sorry.

Thanks Exal.
Just think there might be some people who had similar problem and found a make which works best for them.
I guess not everyone has a perfect build of chest 42 and waist 34-36 as wetsuit manufacturers seem to think.
My understanding is I should not go onto next chest size of 44-46 if I am chest 42 - correct?

Exal's advice brings another question - any good wetsuit shops not to far from Glasgow, Scotland? Could not find any with a choice of makes i could try....

Try Oneill suits with Techno butter material, amazingly comfortable because it is very stretchy. Oh, and also very warm. Lots of sizes too.

Have a look at this one here: https://www.skymonster.com/collections/wetsuits

Not too bad of a drive? Keep in mind that you can always negotiate the price with them. Might not be as cheap as an online store but nothing wrong with supporting local business! :thumb:
