Alrighty kjorn, cheers. :naughty:

Kinda on this topic ... when someone says he takes his 9 in 20 to 30 knots, does that mean with or without the gusts?
Describing wind strength by kite size is a kooky thing. It's 20 kn gust 25 and my very experienced pal is on a 4m on a surfboard, I'm on a 9m on a twintip, there's a 12 year old girl on a 5m and a 260lb middle aged man on a 12.

When someone asks me "hey what kite size should I bring", my answer is "Yes".
Because you didn't understand the question?

If you really want to convey what is going on, and given that it is so uneven, you can give both the average and gust ranges.

An interesting point raised. As you know when arriving at the beach/lake it is common to ask around and observe what kite sizes are flying so as to get a fair idea what kite and board to take out. Personally I always reply with average wind, the lows and gusts. That way the kiter can decide what may be best for their session. Also good tp look at what the last few hours has been on a wind site and then estimate where it will be.
