Happens every now again, most of the kites are made on the same factories, they probably messed up the chemicals again and bladders are leaking. Heard this stories a lot from kite brands, which sucks as it's not their own fault but factories.
Ozone is very proud of having its own factory that it shares with nobody else.
You are right, I did forget about that. Question is do they make their own bladders thought

Yeah for us we have all the repair kits , if I had an ozone myself it's no problem to patch it up or replace a valve but at our school we got 20+ kites so it's a lot of patching up .
Of course all bladder eventually can leak , butnwiukdnt be expecting this happening after 6 months of teaching on the.
We do work in a very hot climate thought always 25+ degrees so that may not help with the bladders.

My mates ozone edges have faulty valves too. This is not acceptable now that kite manufacturers are charging well over the odds for new kites now.
When over a grand a piece you don’t expect for such failures. They really need to sort this out.

Some funny responses. So a small leak that means you can just hear the strut being filled from the leading edge when you open up the valve after a session = failure.
I would like to hear the phone call you guys would make to the towing company after your car has been scratched slightly. “Hey man my car is wrecked. Dude can you come and rescue me from this nightmare? Oh I can’t believe my ride has experienced a complete failure.”

Of all my kites, I've got one that does that in one strut ...
But I don't think that's what he meant.

I'm confused why you compare leaking valves to a scratched car and a scenario about a towing company ?

By some magic of chemistry valves are permanently attached to cheap pool toys but the ones on expensive equipment that could threaten your life upon failure drop off like flies that drank ddt for breakfast.
Yeah yeah yeah “the badder and valves are made of different materials” so what? Make them differently.
Make them stick. FOREVER.
Now that kite design has stayed the same for years or even regressed, I think its high time this valve issue gets resolved, and the company that does it - gets the first, ever, real, ***Game Changer Award***
A marketing statement such as
“our valves will never peel off, ever, or full msrp refund”
would create more brand loyalty at this point than all the claimed xyz performance profile improvements from all brands put together.
Problem is of course (now more than ever), that the used market is burgeoning with excellent kites just a few years old that are just as good (the same) as the new models, except that the valves are falling off...
if those valves dont peel, the demand for new kites would tank. Planned obsolescence? Maybe. Probably.

I have a few older ozones in my quiver, and even in these the valves are not just glued on, it's a thick weld. I've changed a few (strut and LE) valves on a now 10 year old kite and it's funny reading the aftermarket instructions that say 'dip it in hot water' for 30 seconds and peel.
Im lucky in one respect living in a mild country.
