Isn't there a high chance of the CL jumping out of the low friction ring when there is slack in the lines at some point?

In my case, no, there isn't, since I had to reduce the diameter of the CL in order to fit it inside the "gutter". I actually have to pull a bit on the CL so that it goes inside.

But I agree that if the diameter of the CL is smaller than the "A" dimension here:Image

The CL might jump out (though it would have to be some real slack then), so choose your friction ring accordingly...

I just modified mine last night and will try it out today.
10x7 Antal ring ($12.00 at West Marine) and some 5mm Amsteel. One slider and one fixed option.

I have only had chicken loop jump out of the LFR just once in around 100 sessions, and it happened because I haven't secured it properly in the groove of the LFR. As Sgallian said - I have to pull slightly on the (Cabrinha)CL and quite hard on OceanRodeo CL to get it inside the groove. Once you launch the kite the first pull on the centre lines secures the CL so that no slack can cause it to slip out.

Hello, you do not need to add a "fixed" option, just thread your "sliding" option through the mini-loop.
Most people do not realize that the little loop on the stealth bar should be used this way (at 1'50):

Sliding to fixed option on Steath bar
Posting that just in case... that would allow for less clutter.

I've noticed one issue with the setup in the photo above - it leads to quick wear on the ropes where they cross.

The ring sucks ! Im burning through ropes like crazy ! What other ring is there that won't wear the rope so fast ? I saw a post that had a wide ring. does anyone know what im talking about ? Its used for sailing.
Have you seen that flat Dyneema webbing that Ion is using on their surf s-bar? It's derived from the rock climbing market (e.g Black Diamond uses it). In my experience it slides on rings (& carabiners) much better than the round rope and it seems to wear better.
When I first tried it I was skeptical, but now I'd rather not go back. I've been trying to find it in bulk since it would be nice to have replacement webbing when needed. I was going to contact some of the climbing brands domestically and see if I can source some.
Wow ! Its $40 ! If you find it in bulk please let me know ! It looks like it would go good with the SMC ringsmc.jpg
The SMC ring Rocks so far ! and it’s only $5 !

This is the best solution - almost all friction absorbed by the pulley rolling on the 6mm stainless shackle bolt so virtually no rope wear.
