I owned a North Jaime 138 last summer. Monarch isn't too harsh on my knees, no worse than the Jaime or my Carved Imperator 6. Toby is correct too, comfy pads make a difference. SP QSR and Msr pads are my go to.
Liked the Apex bindings, but I prefer the ratchet to the velcro when having to go from bare feet to boots back and forth.

I would have probably bought the KL Pro if they did it in the 135.... Both graphics are fine, but I prefer the 5cm G10 fins that come with the KL. I did manage to score some 5cm Naish G10 fins.

How light is it compared with the textreme boards?

The Textreme Jaime 138 was super light. My 135 Monarch is a tank. I'll bet a legit 1/2 pound plus difference. That said I don't notice the extra weight jumping and in the air. I don't think I'll be able to break a Monarch...

Lol... still have a Naish Flash Mutant !

Nothing wrong with Pro models, as they can offer something distinctive.... i.e. the Flash is the only Mutant I have ever seen with channels on the nose.

Did any one buy a KL pro 137? Are they any good? Good clear out prices in it now at £350 a board.
Was the 137 not a popular size and why?

Has anyone rode one yet ? Im trying to decide between the KL Pro 137cm and the 138cm Monarch

Its the same board just different length and it comes with 5cm fins but this years monarch also comes with the 5cm fins. I have the S25 monarch in 138 and 142. I would just get a monarch. If you get the older model though it will have the 4cm fins which Ive never felt was enough for the monarch so I always switched them out for 5cm. The S25 Monarch is a little different in design. Like they did away with the big X in the middle. I thought it would change the feel of the board but it rides the same as past years. Im 50 and the bottom channels soften the landings ! The flat rocker makes it super fast and also makes able to be ridden in lighter wind

It definitely needs to be ridden smaller. I'm a pandemic pork chop at present coming in around 200 lbs. and the 135x41.5 Monarch is easily big enough. I think the 137 is really going to be for a bigger rider or riding in boots.
I've seen the KL Pros going for cheap too. I was temped to buy a 131 for nuker days.......but I just wouldn't ever use it enough to justify.

Clint is right on the fins, these boards really work better with the 5cm fins. So between a the last years KL and Monarch, grab a KL with the bigger fins.

Well I doubt there will be too much between the monarch 136 and the kl pro 137? I usually ride bigger boards any way at 139 - 140. Have pulled the trigger to try one so soon see. They sold out the 131 that would be way too small for me. Hopefully the 137 won’t be too heavy to give good height. I know reedin are going to do a new bigger 138 or 139 in their Kev pro this year.

Clint last year monarch is more expensive for some reason than the kl even though both on clear out.
Will see how I get on.
