I can't answer for plummet but I am talking about all 4 lines.

I'm not talking a general hindenburg when you swing under the kite and it flops foward and inverts etc.
I am talking partially about that as a lot of LEIs do that a lot of the time particularly in lIght wind.

I am talking about a deliberate slack where you purposefully run towards the as part of your riding. With the kite still partly in the powerzone with slight nose down. In that instance then the lei is 100% recoverable no matter what the crazy gusty conditions.
This I have not observed of LEIs or experienced. Yes they can be more recoverable but they can be more failing particularly in light wind. I think if I did some digging I can easily find videos of LEIs failing to drift well.

There is no doubt there is a difference between foils and LEI when it comes to this. I would simply say LEI is easier. As they can do it in more positions with a higher chance of recovery as you say and less issues. I would say a foil is harder because more likely to have trouble and harder to recover. I would also say a foil is more capable because it can do it in less wind and for much longer.
Not what I am trying to demonstrate wholly . In this video the kite experiences a little slack, actually quite a bit for finding in videos, but for me this is very very little, most of the videos demonstrating slack out there I would not even desribe them as such but merely a slight bow in the line. In this you can see the lines wobble and genuine slack. The video is slowed down so the slack is maybe a few seconds at most. What can be observed is the imediate turning down of the kite, and if the slack was to continue the kite would be in the water in a matter of seconds. A foil kite won't do that. Not my favorite position to drift from but I use it and as can be seen in the video a foil kite not doing that is still better.
One is never going to replace another I think. There is space in the market for both as they offer differentiated experiences.
Though I don't use foil kites, I do like seeing them up there just the same
since is it universally accepted now that foil kites drift and LEI kites dont drift but more or less fall (under control).
what do LEI kites do better....that you cant really debate?
straight line speed?
if i want to go the fastest possible...i'll need to pack a pump and LEI kite.
Most LEIs turns faster than most foil kites and have better bar feedback. As you sheet in LEI you put more and more forces from harness to bar. This is very intuitive behavior and people like it as they can "hold on to bar" if they want. Turning LEI kite it more physical and less aerodynamical which is also more user friendly. LEI hold always hold they shape and usualy are better in turbolent wind /on same as gusty wind/ Lei kites have no bridle to tangle and catch on something and are easier to setup for less technical peoples.
Thats about it - saying that i use only foil kite now.
But i see no point of foil kites for heavy powered twintip riding. LEI are best suited for TT, FOILs are best for HF, Surfboard is middle ground. All IMO but if you look on water that is what is +- settled

but an argument can be made concerning boosting (LEI vs foil kite)
well.
in spite of the automobile being around since the late 1800s....some folks continue to spurN technological advancements.
...i'm sure there are some folks out there continuing to use 2 line kites too
