Megaloop Judging

Postby Herman » Tue Jun 11, 2019 9:28 pm

In a megaloop competition what percentage of the score goes to a controlled landing?

For me that would be low vertical drop speed and just enough forward speed to ride out! I am full of admiration for these guys, but I hope they are encouraged to stay Safe-ish. Don't get me wrong I am perfectly happy for people to risk their lives but I also like to see the relevent controlling body trying to keep some sort of lid on it in an effort to look after the competitors.

I am not trying to make any point, just curious and passing time! Good wishes to all the megaloopers!

you get points both for distance and for height, so the hotter you can land and stick it the better. No points for soft landings after a bunch of safety loops on the way down. It's pretty dangerous landing hot in chop, so maybe they are just doing their best. These guys in the competition are probably in the safest place to throw down they can be. Most of the time they kite there's zero rescue services, so it probably feels good to try stuff they might be scared to try when there's no help.
