I tried the below all new Team Series - this is one the best progressions I have seen on a high performance twin tips. The draw back of Team Series in the past year was the stiffness over choppy conditions. the new Team Series carbon construction has:
1. All new shaping design from tips to bottom
2. bottom of the board has the 2019 double diffuser of the Jaime
2. Point 2 offers excellent comfort on the chops
4. it retained the pop and skaty character for high performance riders
5. The light wait carbon construction with all new weaving gives it a very early release off the water on riders demand
6. i would invest in a new set of bigger fins along with the 3.5 wake fins for big air to get maximum grip
So, all the gear is already on test events and you can see everything on social media but what I don't understand is why they are not releasing everything on their website at the same time? I like the new product video from the rebel and am happy that they went away from the robot talking all the time. But then again they are saying the kite will be lighter but the rebel has the same wind range as in 2019 and the weight is not displayed. If they wanted to get everything out before north, maybe put in the bit of extra effort.
Maybe because they want to keep the hype going for a few weeks/months instead of releasing everything with a big bang.
Also, I am still not sure if Duotone is trying to compete directly with Cabrinha 2.0 ... Kiters who ride a Rebel are riding it because they want a Rebel and not just because there was "North" printed on it.

- record 130 teaching videos
- release app as fast as possible
- release a magazine when north starts with the announcement train
- release as much of the 2020 range as possible a couple days before the north release date
- force every team rider to make instagram stories about the new app, the new magazine, the new products - yeah those weren't awkward at all and we all follow different team riders only and didn't watch the same thin 100 times to get the same thing again on the official duotone accounts
Many people don't even know who duotone is and are still going in the store saying they want a north kite. The approach duotone took to try and stay ahead is quite obvious.

And what would you do if you were them? It is a smart move, they have/had 1,5y to make a statement and they do their best. And I hope their hard work pays off.
Regarding north - I saw their future in dark colours. They made a huge impression when they bought part/half/most of mystic. Bloody smart and it proves they are sertious about staying in kite industry.
Interesting times to come. Given the largest shop in Poland deals mystic ... will be interesting here locally as well.

That probably only applies to a few kiters who are rather detached from the community or industry. I believe that most kiters are well aware of what Duotone is in the meanwhile and like I said, most kiters are riding a specific model, not just a brand; If you have a Dice for example and you like it, you will look for that specific model again and you won't find it when you go into a North shop.
I do agree that they do a lot to stay ahead, yes. But I don't think they are doing all that just to compete with Cabrinha 2.0. The Rebel was always released at this time of the year so there is actually no difference to the time before the rebranding.
