2020 Clickbar is exactly the same from 2019?

They didn't even change the lines?
No need to break something that's already broken. :D

Oh, that's not right, is it? Sorry.

I know a kite school who has often Duotone lines broken in 2017. Now they changed brand and does not meet any issue anymore.

I read as well the article of wetestkites who were complaining about Duotone lines.

I do have Duotone bars and kites and I would have preferred they upgrade their lines for better ones.

Used north gear since 2005, now duotone 2019 stuff...never had a line issue ever....apart from the odd knot!

I have noticed many folks come in from session, drop everything on beach, never wind lines up... so some people walk over lines, stuff gets ground into sand and sharp coral-y bits (particularly in places in the pacific where i ran kiteboarding tours for 11 years).......maybe this contributes....lines on hot sand in blazing sun for an hour or two probably doesn't help either (while modern fibres are stabilised against UV attack, its best to limit it if possible)...but I guess its a personal thing...

..

Nope. The Iron heart is red in 2020 while in 2019 it was orange.

PS Not kidding.

I believe the afnor standard required the quick release to be predominantly red. I assume the new iso standard is the same.

I never understood why it was orange.

The red deposer line that passes through the bar is also prone to wear. That is specific to the click bar and you will have to monitor it and replace at some point.

I've switched to sk99 lines and they don't show any of the issues I had with the original lines.
Interesting. Did you even replace the deposer line that passes through the bar with sk99 or only the steering lines/power lines? If yes, how does that work so far? I've only replaced the latter as the deposer line did not show too much wear after 3 years of usage.

I am not sure why reports differ so much. I use my bar mainly in fresh water and also rinse it after every session. Until now there is no problem except shortening of the steering lines, but that's for sure not a problem that is limited to the click bar.
I used original replacement for the depower lines.

I assume salt is major or contamination is a major contributor.

The weave is quite loose and the finish is rough is another problem.

My kite lines also faded to white rather quickly

The clickbar writing seems not updated. Hopefully they at least changed the colors a little bit ...
