Got a custom bar now, and couldn't be happier.
Just one?
Two
Wide and narrow one. Long and short CL, one for waves and one for freeriding.

Actually - it isn't. What North has announced is closer to current offerings by Eleveight, F-One and Flysurfer - than to that of Cabrinha. Very-very nice bar, same design as some of the best bars out there, but made-specifically-for-North-enough not to be generic.
I really like what they've done. To release a ful line of gear, all at once. Well done North!!!

How exactly does it fit into the concept of being "universal"?

Equal length lines, knots in the front and loops in the back

A bar made specifically for mowing the lawn either on a foil or a surf board. How is it universal to begin with - regardless of the lines length?

SS Bars are ok BUT:
-heavy
-magnet in cleat to keep tidy the depower rope is a big Joke, it just do not work properly, gets rusty, and collects all the little iron particles in the sand...
-depower rope wears down after a few sessions (lighwind and moving the kite a lot).
-replacing depower rope is difficult and requires 2 different tools.
-and a few other things...
I see a lot of room for improvement ! in Bar Desing " Less is More"
Magnet?????? no problems so far..
Heavy??? I don't unhook so not an issue for me
Depower line wearing???? no issues after thirty session, most likely change around 50.And I can see the problem before it snaps, unlike hidden PU tube bars.
Difficult to change depower line??? I've changed compression rings on my dirt bikes, I'm pretty sure it will be a breeze.
And I have never paid more than $325
