For regular twin tip riding I would go M/L.

But it partly comes down to personal preference and which kite you will be using the most. If you are 90% on the 7 that would maybe change things. Even if 46 should work really well IMO on a 7 riding regular TT.

49cm isn't exactly a huge problem on a 12/13 either. Just to make it more complicated.

I'm using my 50cm on my Zephyr. That is annoying at times. At the same time 50cm on my 9 doesn't ever feel to big. Those kites are slightly different of course than the Rebel. A friend got a 13 Rebel and I always go 53cm with that one. 4cm difference isn't the end of the world, but I really wouldn't like a small bar than 53 on that kite.

It depends what you're doing and overall preference.

For me:
8m = small bar, small setting - stops it from whipping around the window too quickly
10m = small bar, large setting - for looping to get it around quick enough
12m = small bar, small setting - airstyle (sometimes large)
15m = large bar, large setting - airstyle (I often need to hockey the bar to get it around fast enough, but I also have 27m lines occasionally with 5m extensions)

In reality, it's whatever I used it on last time as I always forget to change it.

I ride a 11m CF hyper on a 45cm bar, found it very slow at first (coming from clickbar and rebels same size quiver) but it gives me the freedom to be more aggressive with my steering, 5 or 4 cm is not a big deal

Hi Rebel users ;)

i'm looking at adding a 13m 2020 Rebel to my quiver (8m/10m dices) to do some airstyle. But can't seem to find out what windrange i would get out of it. And whether a big 5 strut is the best choice here. (would a Juice be better for these lighter winds?). My thinking towards a larger sized rebel is it's stability and forgiveness for accidently pulling the bar in a multi-rotation or so.

Goal: boosting / rotations / slides etc. in lighter winds (14-19 knots).

77kg - regular size twintip

Any experiences to share? :D

I'm not exactly sure what kind of wind I have been out with on a 13m Rebel (2019), but the lightest was probably just over 15. I doubt it was more than 17. Being 100kg I'm hardly jumping high in those conditions, but on flat water and cold air I could still have some fun jumping in those conditions. At 77kg it should give you some decent pull.

Got another friend with what I believe is a 13m Juice. I can't exactly remember, but it is not 11 or 15 so unless there are some old versions with 14 it is 13. I have never tried that one, but it seems worse under similar conditions for anything resembling "airstyle".

13m Rebel (at least the 2019-version) is slow. I still love it, but I wonder if it is even slower than my 17m Zephyr. Got to be close at least. Which makes it "forgiving" I guess. But it also pulls you hard if you lose control crashing or something. I have "over corrected" after a crash once. It doesn't bother me, but the power is quite sensational and if you have first made the mistake I made then you just have to braise yourself for flying. There is just no way you will be able to correct the direction of the kite again quick enough. Only happened once though - generally speaking it being so slow makes it very easy to control.

I love the Rebel. I think it does what it does brilliantly. Sounds like it would be a good kite for you. At least if you like to ride with "power". It is quite different than the Dice in that regard.

I am not sure, Leon has got 12Rebel 15 Juice. Maybe post him a link to this thread. He gave me good help.

Generally in 14 knots both will fly. When it gets less Wind Juice will stay fly , but Rebel will fall down (no idea where this Point will be...

The new Juice (I do not have one) has been changed quite a lot.

Thanks both, clarifies things.

I think duotone marketing is wrong tho. Maybe for a beginner. But I doubt a 10m rebel (or any 10m kite for that matter) would be any fun in sub 18 knots.

I had a 13m Rebel 2017 or 2018 and I sold it. Its a heavy kite. In my opinion, for this range of wind, a 5 struts is not ideal. I would try a 12m Evo SLS, a light 3 struts kite.
I am 63kg

For me it says 13m at 16-20 knots. In flat water I would say that is quite fair - might even be true for the 2021 version. 10m sounds small, but then again I haven't been less than 80kg since primary school  so difficult to comment.

I run a 2020 15m Rebel from 15-23kn on 27 or 32m lines. I'm 100kg. 15kn is enough for sliding around and up to about 3-5m jumps. I tried the 15m Juice, but it's quicker turning, less jump height, and less hangtime. Unless you want to mix in the occasionally freestyle, stick with the Rebel.

They changed the material layout on the 2020 and gave it a bit more hangtime at the expense of turning speed (at least in the bigger sizes).
