Anyone who has any experience with a hook and rope at the same time? Will that be possible or will the hoop interfer with the rope? I tried to Google it but couldnt find much info
My rope runs directly over where the holes for the hook are.

Has anyone tried the release mechanism on this while its under load? Just wondering if it works as a safety too?

Yes - the closing lever is constructed in a such a way, that it is virtually impossible to open when under load. The load force(transferred via the harness webbing straps) is acting in opposite direction to the force that has to be applied to open the latch. So the greater the load, the harder it is to open the latch.

My impressions on the new stealth bar (rope)after quite a few sessions.

Rope seems great quality. I love that secondary smaller rope. For either a leash or in case the main rope fails.
A lot lighter than the older clicker bars. Great fit.
Fits my ride engine harness perfectly.
Easily convertible to a hook: 4 screws to take apart--->these are very low diameter long screws. Prone to snapping if not inserted properly in their holes. Mystic, make those screws thicker! The whole thing is supported by these screws. Rust/salt could be a problem. Easily the biggest problem of the harness. Check those screws after a few months riding.
Super easy to open, a bit fiddly to close...If the harness is tight it is quite hard to insert the metal loop without loosening the straps a bit...then re-tight the straps...and when closing the buckle sometimes it catches the rope.
It is a bit annoying that every time you put on the harness or take it off you need to insert/slide out the spreader "backing" into your harness. Hard to describe...just takes again more time and is fiddly.
No line cutter.
I really like it but it does need some minor improvements.

It also needs a secondary catch so that you can have it fastened loosely while you're walking around.

Actually the flaps("wings") do act as a loose fastening "device" - when you tuck in the one on the latch side, the harness stays closed, although not fastened tight. The spreader bar stays close to the body, not dangling down like on the standard ones.

Not if wearing a seat harness (Ion Echo) as I do. This is because the "wings" don't tuck in as they do on a waist harness, they just sit under the side straps

I have put 2 SMALL notches/flat spots on the buckle which helps with the closing not slipping when tight and which acts as a lip to hold it part way open.

Sounds like what I need, would you post a pic please? :-)

<edit> just looked at mine and saw what you mean. So cut a 3-4mm flat spot/step each side of the buckle where the harness closing clip naturally wants to sit when partially open. Works great. Thanks. 8)

@iriejohn
Can you add a picture of how this looks like? Is it hard to cut/sand the buckle material?
