Ocean Rodeo News:

Discover the Ocean Rodeo 2020 kites - Our lightest range yet

or 1.jpg

We're proud to introduce you to our strongest and lightest kite range ever.

Ocean Rodeo continues to lead the pack in the light kite revolution and, with our formal introduction of The Aluula Project this year, we mark just the latest exciting step that follows 20 years of improving the performance and durability of our kite designs, while simultaneously reducing their weight.

This year’s range of Ocean Rodeo Classic Kites are built using top quality material blends from Teijin and Challenger to deliver the best possible performance levels. Aluula technology has also fed into this range, as we employ cutting-edge techniques that we’ve learned through our use of this new ground-breaking material that features in our incoming BLACK kite range.

For this season, the Flite and Roam use a lighter blend of materials to achieve outstanding light wind and drift performance levels, while the new Prodigy, Razor and the all-new Crave feature our toughest fabrics, still designed light and strong, and with enough reinforcements to take maximum abuse.

Welcome to the next level in Ocean Rodeo kites...

Using a carefully selected mix of Dacron and ripstop, we have created a super light yet rugged 3-strut air frame. With the Roam Gen 3, there is no longer a need to compromise on stability and wind range in favour of no struts.

The Aluula Project heralds the introduction of a brand new composite material with a near-endless wealth of potential. But to us it means a lot more than that…

This collaborative venture represents years of effort by Ocean Rodeo to examine every single aspect of our kites’ construction for ways to reduce weight while preserving or enhancing their strength and integrity.

Ocean Rodeo is proud to introduce yet another game changer. An all-new series of kites built with the Aluula BLACK material, which features a graphene-enhanced composite that weighs just 68gsm (grams per square meter). To compare, traditional Dacron comes in at around 150gsm. UV stable and virtually unrippable, the Aluula BLACK composite can also withstand higher inflation pressures.

I was hopping for an allula 10m Flite.
It would be the ideal 1 kite quiver.

For strong wind jump & old school with the twin tip and for light wind foil...

Did I miss the actual weights?
Although the Roam’s design remains familiar in Gen 3, the kite’s flying weight has been greatly reduced (weighing-in lighter than most single strut kites), improving its performance not just in light wind, but in all wind conditions.

"...a 3-strut Aluula frame kite becomes lighter than leading no-strut kites...."

Show us the numbers. The "leading no-strut" is presumably BRM Cloud. Their weights are readily available.
