It won't be able to do it properly for full rotations. At least not in 1080p. Maybe in 720. But for 1080 it would need an 5.7k capable sensor , and GoPro did not upgrade the internals on the Go Pro 8. It still has the same hardware as the 7.

Just tried in-app horizon leveling with version 1.20 firmware - full rotation works amazingly with 4K/60
